About Human Catalyst
Human Catalyst is dedicated to helping individuals and organizations excel, even in the midst of everyday stuff that happens. This does not happen so much by building someone up. We refer to it as the Michelangelo Method™, named after the great renaissance sculptor Michaelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni (1475-1564). It is said that, when asked about his famous sculpture of David, Michelangelo explained that David had been inside the stone all along and he simply chiseled away that which did not belong.
In many ways, we are like David before Michelangelo came along and removed the excess. With each day that goes by, we accumulate beliefs, assumptions, hurts, and misperceptions that weigh us down. We develop models in our mind that give structure to our reality. These models, in turn, affect our subsequent experiences. We share these paradigms with others and adopt pieces of their paradigms. After a while, we end up with the psychological equivalent of a Rube Goldberg device, and insist that it's "just the way things are."
When we let go of our mental contraptions, heal our hurts, challenge our assumptions, and correct our misperceptions, we become freer. Our efficiency, resiliency, and adaptability increase. More importantly, we become happier and our lives become more positively abundant.
